February - "The month it is"

Hello again. It has been sometime since I was here and few words of explanation are necessary. I needed to take care of very important private case, so that’s why I have dissapered for two weeks. Details will stay personal, sorry, but I can tell you that I am really happy with the results and I am looking forward for coming months with new approach towards traveling somehow.

Where I am now? Sitting in the bus to Pokhara :D I am in Nepal and last 4 days I have spent in Kathmandu trying to get used to this new environment. What to say about Kathmandu, 1 mln inhabitans, a lot of rain, so very muddy roads, but fortunately no dust at all flying around. Nepalese people more friendly then Indians(I got tired of them, so that’s why I have skipped traveling to north India), more helpful, seems happier even with electricity cut-out(sometimes even 16h a day, hehe). Kathmandu as it self, another chaotic Asiatic city, but I liked it more then Indian’s ones vistsed earlier, narrow, dark streets full of local shops with all kinds of chineese products are really interesting to walk and getting lost(yes, I tried that J ). No feeling of spiritual world, few temples are simply lost between normall buildings and markets and it is difficult to cut from the city noises there. I visted Budnath(biggest stupa in Nepal, one of biggest in world), nice, but city just surrendered it, so it feels strange walking around, hearing some prayers interrupted by city noices and some smells from turist restaurants. I tried as well Drubar Squares of Kathmandu and Tamal. Very small markets, with few buildings where turist are spotted and asked to pay the entrée fee’s(I didn’t, because I just used back-doors and it was good decision as those weren’t worth it to pay for seeing them). Nice places, with some small rush, some sculptures, kind of oriental style, but still really small so after max. 1 hour I needed to go to another place. Then I tried to get in to Temple Pashpantjam(something like that), the most important Hindu temple in Nepal and entry fee was 1000 RS(of course I found some back doors), but after several of those in India I decided just to see it from the outside. I must say, that until now the hindu temples were most difficult to access, as in many places they are asking for entrence fee’s, restricted to get inside(Hindu-only) and somehow you are feeling there like apart/stranger. People are just looking at you with some anger in eye’s, like you are not exactly welcome there. Maybe this is just my observation.

So Kathmandu is done at the moment for me, I need more quiet so I am on the way to Pokhara and from here I want to start the Himalay’s trekkings. It seems that I already found the Company for the first, short – trail one.

Imagine Kathmandu street full of turist busses(around 30 – 40 all going to Pokhara), me jumping on one of them and inside three polish girls. One of them is keep saying that she knows me from somewhere(as they are flight attendends), so first thought from some of flights, then where do you come from, you know the rest. One hour later we got to conclusion that we made skiing instructor course together 3-4 years ago in Marilleva, Italy. World is really small, don’t you think and what made that we booked the same bus?

So, road to Pokhara is better then expected, sit comfortable, some sleep on the way was possible. What will be next, if everything goes well, today I will make some paper work with permissions and tomorrow morning we will start the trek :D

Sorry for keeping you without any updates for so long, but the situation required it. As well expect that in coming weeks there will be few posts here, as during the trekking I won’t have access to internet and computer. NEPALUUUUU, I AM COOOOOOMING !!!
