There was quite a lot of temples, some ruins so time has come for nature. And the nature is Thailand. Specially in wet season when everything turns green. Green in definition which we don't know in Europe. How you can describe green? Connection of blue and yellow? Grass in front of house? From now on it will be North Thailand!
It was quite a thing to get to Umphang, as it is dead end road. Nothing further, only national park so not many people decides to come here. Good :)
The biggest attraction of region is waterfall, one of the most beautiful in the world some say. But at first it has to be fully rainy season(not enough water yet) and you need to get there secondly, but about it later.
Let's start with some landscapes. Sorry, there will be few of them here :)
Green :)
If there are hills, there must be some turns as well :D
And some valleys
And more turns and more valleys :D
I got to very friendly guesthouse with surprising name Umphang Guesthouse and decided to stay two nights. So the second day was trip to another Myanmar border, this time very small crossing without any turist. Only locals there, but I got surprised at noodle shop where owner spoke rather good english(not common in this area at all).
Not always roads are paved here..... but still you can make 40 - 60 km/h :D
This type of mud is not as fast as previous, but is seems that they want to make kind of pavement made of stones on it.
Turns where never ending......
At the border.
Border crossing and Myanmar on the other side :D
Some unexpected meetings on the way :D
How you can describe Thailand? - someone might ask. I would like to answer with that picture. I would like as well that every where in Thailand was like there.
There was around 80 km one way on this type of road.
O, I couldn't miss that km. I didn't make all of them, but looks nice :)
The waterfall. Rainy season or not, I still wanted to go there. There are organized treks to waterfall, expensive and as I have experience organized before, I was trying my best to avoid it. As well, I wasn't that much up to jungle walk for 20 km in order to get to waterfall.
So, I found a way (because there is actually a road there) and sneaked under this gate. Ha!
The road wasn't that good, but bike is adventeraus and biker brave :D
But I couldn't cross this one :(
They got me on this one after 8 km...... So, no waterfall this time....
The grandmother of guesthouse
More landscapes
On the way back, time to take some pictures.
How you decsribe green now? Still is only camera and live version is much better :D
They are not writting anything about it anywhere. This place is the kingdom of cabbage. There is continous stream of pickups loaded like that one full of cabbage. Tons and tons of it everywhere. Smells as well cabagge :)
Some rural roads between fields.
Red, white and blue.
I didn't get to famous waterfalls, but I managed to find some local ones. Which were stunning !!!!
Going in the forrest or through the forrest. Few spots around to take a sit under a roof and enjoy the views.
More cascades
And some playing with nex :)
So, here it is. The last landscape in this post ;) Sorry :)
How to summarize? Amazing place. Stunning views, nice people, great and still not touched nature, not many turist or almost at all(I have only met some volonturing group), new definition of green and a bit lower temperatures as you are going to the "mountains".
I forgot to add ;) The road to Umphang is claimed as Death Highway with few turns to take. Quality? Sometimes really good, sometimes better to forget but for sure if you like taking turns and touching ground with sidepods this is a place for you :) I have really enjoy every moment there.
So, a lot of pictures it means that I liked it there :)
