First days in Thailand - Krabi

Arriving to Thailand took me whole day from Georgetown. At first you need to avoid staying or driving in south-east corner of country, as it is dangerous. 11 h of driving and 630 km further I made my first stop in Krabi town and stay there for couple of nights. City by it self doesn't have much to offer, it is feeling like abandoned Lonely Planet tourist spot. Nice night market, few guesthouses and bars, no beach and locals wondering around.

There was not much to do inside of the city, but I needed to simply rest after very long driving day. I got to change oil in my bike, get a haircut, read some book, book some trips around and do nothing, as simple as that.
I talked as well with american owner of Good Dreams Guesthouse which gave me few indications and places worth to visit(or avoid).

After all I decided to book a day boat trip around 4 islands, which suppose to be highlight for reasonable price. It was cheap 400 BHT for whole day on boat with lunch.

Starting early morning and driving on pick-up bus to next city where boats where waiting. It turns out that there was plenty of Companies doing the same trip on many, many, MAAAAAAAANY boats. What to do? Enjoy the day. Apart of me in the crew was Indian couple(throwing rubbish everywhere and I needed to talk with them and explain that maybe it is not India and maybe it is not right thing to do! Agr......), big group of Chinese, old Czech couple and one girl from Kazachstan. We jumped on old, wood, longtail boat and setted off.

So, here are some pictures :)

Colours are really nice, but difficult to catch much darket boulders and blue sky :(

And the water :)

This was fast boat.(3 - 4 engines, 175 - 250 hp each one!)

So we have been going from one place to another. Some diving at one place called Chicken Rock where I found sun glasses in water together with some fishes(still not as good as Kapas :P, but ok). My companions weren't very communicative as well "brave", so I was the only one jumping off from the boat and trying to have some fun here and there.
The beaches were impressive. White sand, so soft, delicate, clear. Stunnig, but way too many people for enjoying it properly.

The longtail boat on beach

And many, many more :(

Here was a two-island connected by the beach(which dissapers with high-water). Amount of people was crazy(even though it was low season), so I went to take a nap :)

The nap was right after lunch, which everybody had at this beach. Plastic dishes, cheap cuttlery, some chicken with rice and vegtables. If you imagine this place without all this people and rubbish(yep, people are simply stupid.....) could be a paradise, meantime is just farang's spot(remember this word, which means white turist in thai).

Impressive boulders

Our last spot was Railey Beach. Very nice one, but for very special people. One night in Bungalow there costs around 50 000 BHT(5000 zl, so 1300 EUR/night) with breakfast :P
Crazy, but you can just take a taxi-boat in the morning, enjoy beach and come back in the afternoon. As well there are anchoring boat resturants for those "budget" turist, so you can eat during the day easily :)
At one end of beach there is cave with small temple inside and plenty of d....., faluses :P
At this point of the day it started to rain. All the people covered them selfs on boat or somewhere under rocks. I was the only one to walk on the beach and felt great.

Wow :)

Di....... ups... sorry Faluses everywhere :D

More of them :) Let's pray :D

This was last stop. Then going back to harbour. Summary? Too many people on the boat(around 25), too many boats with people, all of them following the same order(instead of mixing and then place wouldn't feel so crowded). Spots by them self really nice. Transport back to my hotel terrible, not enough cars/buses for all the people, so I needed to wait until my bus would make 3 rounds to pick me up finally, but still I had to change it on the way....
Nice, budget trip. Not much to expect, but only proved that all the turisty spots in Thailand should be avoided.

The next day was a trip to Tiger Cave Temple, where in 70' tiger used to stay. Then they built a temple around cave, so tiger had to move. Never come back(or maybe yes :P)
Big temple was underconstruction. Other building of complex were not very impressive. A bit of chaos inside and quite a lot of people for praying. You can buy many things on local shops. I managed to get a blessing from monk and a bracelet as well, so something new :)

You can climb 1245 (or close to this number) step to the top of the hill, where is small wat with a great view, but I wasn't feeling the best this day, so just wonder around for a while and left.

Table :)

Cartoon pray

Monkeys are in almost every temple which I have visited. As well as stray dogs. Offcourse monks are not agreeing to kill them, so ammount of them sometimes is extreme.

Chicken tea?

Glass Buddha

Promised actual Tiger resident of the cave. You can smell that he is living there when you get there.

Krabi. Small town, nice vibe and I liked stay there. Good to adopt to new country and rest after long journey. Few things to do around and you can find nice beaches as well and great spots for fans of climbing. You can go to many islands from there, but I wasn't interested in as someone describe them "gringos" destinations. So, next day heading north(as like for a next month will be :P )
